Parent / teacher support
This page is for adults using EduSim to support children at home or in class. It explains how EduSim fits into real life, what children can see, and how to keep things safe and simple.
EduSim is not a full curriculum. Think of it as a guided reading and thinking tool you pair with your own books, conversations and wider learning.
Quick start in 3 steps
If you’re new to EduSim, this is the quickest way to get from “nothing set up” to a child successfully completing their first topic.
Create your adult account
Use your email address on the Adult sign in page to create an account. EduSim will automatically create a personal workspace just for you.
Set up your family / class & children
From your dashboard, create a family or school organisation and add each child. EduSim generates a login code, child IDs and PINs for them.
Assign your first topic
Browse the catalogue, choose a topic (for example a classic book), and assign it. Your child signs in on the Child sign in page and starts their journey.
What children can see
Children do not use an email address and they do not see the adult dashboard. Their experience is intentionally simple and distraction-free.
Child login & dashboard
- Children sign in with an organisation code, child ID and PIN.
- They only see the topics you (or another adult) have assigned to them.
- They can open a topic, read the questions, write answers and submit work for marking.
What they don’t see
- No adverts, no social feeds, no public comments.
- No access to other families’ work or data.
- No way to change organisation settings or add / remove users.
A typical EduSim session
Here’s how a session might look in a home-ed morning or a classroom lesson.
- Beforehand: you choose a topic (for example Anne of Green Gables chapter 1) and assign it to one or more children.
- At the table / in class: children read the chapter (on paper or e-reader) and then sign in to EduSim using their code, child ID and PIN.
- Independent work: children answer questions, including multiple-choice, short answers and longer written responses.
- After the session: you open the Marking section in your dashboard, quickly scan answers, approve work or send individual questions back for another try.
- Celebrate: when a child completes all milestones for a topic, you can award a sticker and move on to the next journey.
Safety & good practice
EduSim is designed as a supervised learning tool. You remain in control of which children use it, which topics they see and when they sign in.
Our part (what EduSim aims to do)
- Keep the child interface clean, simple and ad-free.
- Separate adult dashboards from child dashboards so children don’t see settings or personal data.
- Require adults to agree to the terms, privacy policy and responsibility statement when creating an account.
Your part (good practice as an adult)
- Keep your adult password private and do not share it with children.
- Treat child IDs and PINs like any other login details – do not post them publicly.
- Supervise younger children while they are online, and choose topics that are appropriate for their age and maturity.
- If you share a device, sign out as an adult before a child signs in.
Common questions
Do I have to pay to create an adult account?
You can create an adult account and explore the dashboard without entering card details. If and when we add paid plans, we’ll clearly signpost what is free and what is part of a subscription.
Can my child work on EduSim without me in the room?
That depends on the age and needs of your child. EduSim has no adverts or social features, but we still recommend that an adult is nearby and available, especially for younger children.
What if I make a mistake adding a child or organisation?
You can adjust details from your dashboard, or contact us if you need something correcting. We’d much rather fix a small problem early than have you worry about it.
Does EduSim replace my existing books or curriculum?
No. EduSim is designed to sit alongside your existing books, curriculum plans and conversations. It focuses on guiding reading and thinking, not on replacing everything you already do.
Need extra help?
If something isn’t working, or you have a question about how to use EduSim with your family or school, please use the Contact link in the footer. Include a brief description of what you were trying to do and, if possible, a screenshot.
We can’t offer individual teaching advice, but we are very happy to help with technical issues and practical questions about how EduSim fits into your setup.
